| >> CBA |
CBA is a specifically formulated high-strength polyester-based core bedding adhesive, designed to be used with contoured balsa or foam core materials, and is suitable for both hand lay-up and vacuum bagged core installation. Lightweight and non-sagging, CBA spreads easily and fills gaps and edges, and with a shrinkage of less that 1%, CBA significantly reduces the possibility of print-through.

| >> TECHNIGLUE-CB R35 |
TECHNIGLUE-CB R35 is a pre-filled system formulated to cure at room temperature to form a tough core-bedding adhesive. R35 has been formulated for laminating applications where tensile elongation and working time for vacuum bagging applications are of benefit. The high viscosity enables the mixture to be trowelled onto a vertical surface with minimal sagging.

| >> CORE KITS |
In addition to the supply of plain or contoured sheets in BALTEK® end grain balsa, and the AIREX® and Corecell® structural foam ranges, ATL Composites can supply pre-cut, ready to install custom core kits, generated from electronic design files. As a fabricator you will be ensured of consistent part quality and higher production rates. Waste, labour, equipment and floor space are all eliminated, resulting in significant cost savings. Applications include Marine – hulls, decks, superstructure and interior components; Rail – floors, walls, doors, roof panels, interior partitions and monocoque body structures; Automotive, RV, Bus, Truck – floor panels, roof panels, body panels and monocoque body structures.

| >> PAPER HONEYCOMB |
Phenolic impregnated Kraft paper fibre is fabricated to form a continuous series of triangular cells, similar in structure to the cross-sectional view of a corrugated box, creating a light but incredibly strong and rigid material and has outstanding properties, particularly shear modulus. The paper honeycomb is up to 95% open space, having a density of 54 kg/m3 (3.34 lb/ft3), but when bonded to a facing material on both sides, the resulting sandwich panel offers the highest rigidity and strength-to-weight ratio available. The fuzzy cell edge characteristic assures an excellent bond to face laminates. ATL Composites bonds timber or fibreglass veneers on either side of the honeycomb core to make Featherlight non-structural panels.

| >> Corecell™ SAN FOAM |
Corecell™ is a non-friable, tough, rigid, closed-cell SAN* foam with high shear elongation and impact strength. Corecell™ foams retain their mechanical properties even in the higher ambient temperature range. The insulation values are constant over time due to controlled CFC-free foaming process. It is compatible with polyester, vinylester, and epoxy resins and can be thermoformed between 93 - 104 °C. Corecell™ foams are used in sandwich structures to provide low weight, excellent stiffness and structural integrity, under dynamic loads.

| >> AIREX® PVC FOAM |
AIREX® C70 Structural Foam is a unique closed cell, cross-linked polymer foam that combines high stiffness and strength to weight ratios with superior toughness. It is non-friable, contains no CFC’s, has negligible water absorption, and provides an excellent resistance to chemicals. A fine cell structure offers excellent bonding surface that is compatible with most resins and manufacturing processes. It is ideally suited as a core material for a wide variety of light-weight sandwich structures subjected to both static and dynamic loads in service.
AIREX® C71 Elevated Temperature Structural Foam is a unique closed cell, cross-linked polymer foam specially formulated to maintain its stability at higher processing temperatures. With an improved formula that enhances its strength and ductility, it is non-friable, contains no CFC’s, and has negligible water absorption. Compatible with most resins, it is ideally suited as a core material for a wide variety of lightweight sandwich structures subjected to both static and dynamic loads, and exposed to elevated temperatures during manufacture.

AIREX® R63 Damage Tolerant Foam is a closed-cell, linear, thermoplastic foam with extremely high damage tolerance. This one of a kind formula combines very high elongation and excellent bond strength. It is cold formable to simple shapes and thermoformable to complex 3-dimensional curves, and is non-friable. It is an exceptional core material for dynamically loaded and shock absorbing sandwich structures. Other foams in the AIREX®> range, available on request: AIREX® R82 High Performance Foam is a tough, rigid foam which fulfils most stringent fire and smoke regulations, and is used in sandwich structures with high temperature or fire requirements / pre-preg techniques. |
KAPEXR C51 Industrial Processing Foam has high impact strength and temperature performance. Able to be thermoformed, it is suitable for automated closed mold processes.

| >> BALTEK® SB BALSA |
BALTEK SB.100 and SB.50 balsa is produced from certified kiln-dried balsa wood in the "end grain" configuration. The properties of balsa make it ideal as a core for sandwich construction. It has extremely high strength and stiffness to weight ratios, and achieves an excellent bond with all types of resins and adhesives. It is compatible with a variety of manufacturing processes and is resistant to temperature changes, or exposure to chemicals such as styrene. BALTEK SB.100 - 150kg/m³ offers excellent fire performance, good sound and thermal insulation, high impact strength and good moisture resistance. BALTEK SB.50 - 100kg/m³ offers the same advantages at a lower density making it ideal as a core material for sandwich structures where extreme performance and weight savings are critical. Both products are available in rigid and contoured sheets. BALTEK end grain balsa products are manufactured by ATL Composites under licence to ALCAN COMPOSITES.
